We care for most animals (dogs, cats, birds, small caged animals, fish), as long as they do not pose a danger to our Pet Sitters. We do not care for any animals with a history of biting, fighting or attacking other animals or people. How many times do you see them each day? This will be determined based on our agreement. We recommend at least once a day for healthy indoor cats (with litter box); birds; small caged animals. For dogs with outdoor access, we recommend a minimum of twice a day and if no outdoor access a minimum of 3 times a day How long do you stay at each visit? Depending on which service you choose. Anywhere from 10 minutes for our Express service to 30 minutes for our standard service Our fee schedule is available for your review. We will customize a quote for your unique needs. Do I pay before or after my return?
What forms of payment do you accept? We accept cash, check, or credit card payment through PayPal. Returned checks are subject to a $25 service fee. May I give my Pooch Sitter a gratuity? Absolutely. You may give gratuities directly to your Pooch Sitter, or if you prefer you may pay it to the company. 100% of gratuities go directly to the designated Are you available for other times other than when I go on vacation? Absolutely! Our services are great for those who work long hours, have long commutes; have in-door dogs that need potty breaks; have older pets with special needs; or need our services when traveling on business. What happens if I have to cancel my trip? Our cancellation fee is determined on when you cancel. Please realize you are booking our time and we may therefore turn away other business to reserve time for you which we may not be able to recover should you cancel.
Will you return my key and how soon? Yes – once you have returned. There is a $15 key drop off (this is waived if we keep your key on file for future pet care needs) If my pet becomes ill will you take them to your vet or mine? In the event that we believe your pet is ill enough to be seen by a veterinarian, we will attempt contact with you to let you know the symptoms your pet is experiencing and let you make that decision. If we can’t reach you and it’s an emergency, we will take your pet Yes, we currently carry our insurance with Century Insurance Group; 2400 Corporate Exchange Drive, Columbus, OH 43231 This insurance is underwritten by an A.M. Best Rated: A (Excellent) insurance company. Our Pet insurance covers us if we’re negligent in taking care of your pets while in our care, custody, or control. We also have coverage in the event of accidental breakage, mysterious disappearance, and theft of your property due to our negligence. Our bonding is administred by PSI Insurance Administrator; PO Box 2536; Chapel Hill, NC 27515. All our pet sitters are covered under a $10,000. bond. What if my property or pet is damaged while I am gone? Pooch Sitter agrees to provide the services stated in our service agreement in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. Pooch Sitter is only liable for claims arising from negligence or willful misconduct. Due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, we cannot accept responsibility for unusual mishaps (i.e., biting, furniture damage, etc.). Also, if your pets have access to the outside, we are not responsible for injury, disappearance, or fines. Once I’ve used your pet sitting service and have filled out all the paperwork can I just email you or call you to arrange Yes, once we have initially met, we won’t need to collect contracts, release forms, or vaccination records again. We’ll have all that on file and you’ll be able to schedule future services by calling us or filling out our Appointment form on-line. We’ll always call to confirm the services you’re requesting before we finalize future visits. When should I call you on my return? Within 30 minutes of your return. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll assume you were delayed and plan to attend the next visit. Incremental visits will be charged at full rates. What if my plans change and my return is delayed by a day or two? No problem, just call us as soon as you know that your plans have changed and we’ll accommodate the change. |
